The Western Isles Branch of the Labour Party must have scraped the bottom of the barrel when they appointed Comrade MacMillan as Chairperson.
When I read his correspondence, all I can see is blind hate and malice towards the SNP and absolutely nothing to do with politics, usually people who operate like this cannot make any rational decisions because their judgement and vision is clouded.
Hate is a disease and sometimes it’s known as small village mentality or just tunnel vision. Most dictators have this disease; Chairman Mao of China had it as does Robert Magabe of Zimbabwe and now Calum Iain MacMillan of Garrabost has it in abundance, WOW! Thank goodness it’s not contagious.
I’m not hearing anything from the Comrade on policy or any positive ideas to get the islands moving forward. Just pure hate aimed at the present MPs. I can see clearly from his hysterical ranting’s that he is rattled to the core and probably still in denial from various SNP successes.
Supposing Mr MacSween does get into Parliament, he will head straight to the opposition benches, there’s nothing surer than that, so there’s very little he can do. I’m sure he will promise the earth like every other good politician but at the end of the day we won’t see much difference in the islands. He will just toe the party line like Calum Macdonald did, and slink into the wallpaper unnoticed.
At one time we had three Labour Ministers living in Lewis, Calum Macdonald, Alastair Morrison and Brian Wilson and if you want to count Alastair Darling that’s four, of course the first two got sacked.
I had high expectations like everyone else then, thinking I was going to see a difference because of the political clout in our midst but once again it was just hot air and bullshit all the way so you are right Comrade MacMillan, we will not be fooled again.
