Sell Sunday                                              13/7/09

Sirs,

Can anyone explain to me why a Sunday ferry should run this weekend, when only two weeks ago the business people I heard talking on a radio debate wanted people to stay on the island on Sunday.

Their visitor levels are way down at weekends they say. I run a very busy guest house outside of Stornoway and my occupancy levels have never been so high at weekends.

Sunday and its uniqueness to us is what we should be selling; not this negative nonsense of nothing happens on Sunday because we don't have a ferry.

Tell them what the majority of us do on Sunday (go to church) and taste some of our exclusive preaching, do it along side all the other exclusive items we sell.

And I think those who are suffering because of no ferry could possible fill their empty beds.
