Religious Fundamentalism and Politics                17/7/09

It really isn’t that difficult to figure out why John Macleod chose to slate the FCC representative’s or why he chose to support DJ Macsween instead of Angus MacNeil.

It’s all boils down to religious fundamentalism and of course the big fall out with the Free Church which his own family was involved.

It seems very strange to me after all his hype, and campaigning, against the Sunday ferry service, he has now done a complete U turn and all of a sudden he is supporting the man who was promoting Sunday sailings.

It seems to me that Mr Macleod develops a new face every time a hot topic arises in the island.

If I was a Labour Party Supporter I would be very suspicious of this move and would seriously look for ulterior motives, anyway, how could Angus MacNeil MP oppose a Sunday ferry service to Stornoway when he already has this facility in his own native island.

I don’t trust people like John Macleod. He’s just another journalist looking to make headlines and I’m sure the SNP will not lose a minute’s sleep over his departure.

The way he’s going at the moment I wouldn’t be surprised if he was supporting the Tory’s before the next election.
