Between John Macleod’s spectacularly fatuous attempt at long distance psychoanalysis
(‘…Donald MacKenzie, in all his ongoing spiritual anguish,..’ -
I thought that John Macleod would agree with the correspondent who wrote (as regards
Uisdean MacLeod -
‘.. has repeatedly refused, be it noted, to answer a simple question:..’
but seemingly it is satisfactory for him to avoid answering a simple question –
If he just wants to do it in ‘baby steps’ maybe he could tell us where Sunday (1st day) is called a sabbath? (Jude v3 ’… and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith…’).
All John Macleod has to do is give book:chapter:verse (Jude v3 ‘… and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith…’). It is a concept that he seems to have a grasp of in some of his other letters. Why does he have one standard for people that he is questioning and another one for himself?
John Macleod wrote ‘Those familiar with Mr MacKenzie's correspondence in the local newspaper will know that it is incessant, it is incorrigible, and it is unutterably boring’. (No backtracking on boycott claim – 04.07.09). To stop my ‘…incessant… incorrigible… unutterably boring’ correspondence all John Macleod has to do is answer a simple question.
Think of the good service that you, John Macleod, will be doing for the boredom threshold of the Hebrides News/Gazette readers. Yet you choose not to. From his quote above John Macleod shows that he is familiar with what I am asking yet despite having foreknowledge he ‘…repeatedly refused, be it noted, to answer a simple question:..’. (Speaking personally, my life would be a lot easier if I knew what people were going to ask me in advance). Why does he have one standard for people that he is questioning and another one for himself?
John Macleod used the term ‘…a Stornoway crank…’ (Sunday referendum is a dead duck
-
When John Macleod tried to sidestep the question by writing ‘If Mr MacKenzie genuinely
wishes to discuss theological questions, he is welcome to write me privately. I no
longer wish to be sidetracked publicly from the Sabbath ferry question,…’ (Sunday
referendum is a dead duck -
Though, despite this being pointed out to him, he tried his ‘…theological questions...’ sidetrack again in his letter Ferries, statistics and rich against the poor – 09.07.09. I almost feel embarrassed to have to point out basic reading comprehension to somebody who makes his living as a journalist (though it does seem to be getting into a regular occurrence).
Why does he have one standard for people that he is questioning and another one for himself?
Readers with basic reading comprehension might notice a pattern developing. Others, amongst them one who actually makes his living as a journalist, might not.
All John Macleod has to do is give book:chapter:verse. I would like him to answer the question, I know that some of the ‘Hebrides News’ readers would and Jude (v3 ‘… and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith…’) would as well. Surely poor St Jude has gone through enough without John Macleod letting him down as well? Readers are free to see if they can spot John Macleod do this simple task in amongst any of his future letters.
I am more than happy to help John Macleod with the meanings of any words that he seems to have difficulty with.
