Our islands are bleeding our young and emigration is our main cultural value. The majority of this batch of school leavers will leave the islands most to do a four year course of study.
After their first year of study 75% of their friends will be here, after the second year 50%, the third 25%, so by the time they are qualified they have little or no contacts left. No need to return they are strangers and tourists on their own islands.
We are now a society that does not mix its generations so they have little or no contact with people outside their own age group.
If they are not given an opportunity to return when they have weekends free then this problem is made worse.
Honesty and truth I thought was the rock that underpinned Christianity. It is very difficult to believe when the latest rantings of Mr MacLeod are aired.
This man has mislead us about his position in life and then appoints himself to the highest rank possible in an army of his own invention.
