Exciting show at the Celtic Festival                 20/7/09

Sirs,

I am slightly taken aback to read comments about this year's Hebridean Celtic Festival not having an attractive line up. The programme contained some of the leading lights of the Celtic music world in the shape of Sharon Shannon, Michael McGoldrick, and Blair Douglas to name but three.

In addition to these artists, bands came from as far away as Australia to play, and although perhaps not household names, they presented an exciting show on the night.

It's a shame that Hazel Morrison (Letters "Locals not to blame for festival turnout") didn't place more trust in the organisers' ability to source quality artists and support her local festival.

I'd say you missed out Hazel. I came up from the south of England and had a fantastic week on the island and will definitely be back.
